Adopt-A-Spot program

Adopt-A-Spot

Adopt-A-Spot is a program developed by Keep Lewisville Beautiful. It gives individuals and groups a public way to show pride in our community and to help keep Lewisville litter-free.

Anyone can participate by volunteering to adopt a spot in Lewisville and pledging to maintain it for one year or longer. KLB has many spots that have been adopted out since 2003, the year our organization started this wonderful program!

Most spots within the city limits that are not currently maintained by an adopter may be adopted, with special attention to those places that appear neglected and trash-ridden. A city street, park, or medians are great possible candidates for you to consider. Please note that areas such as Hwy 121, Main Street, I-35, and FM 3040 are not adoptable due to TxDot regulations. Groups, individuals, businesses, or families may adopt one or more spots if desired.

Some spots may require litter pickup and beautification to be maintained by the group. Other spots may just require grass and/or weed maintenance and litter pickup. Since these areas are city property, these spots require no upkeeping such as mowing. ALL plantings must be approved by KLB and the City's PALS department beforehand. Likewise, all Adopt-A-Spots must be approved by the City before signage can be installed.

A sign with your name will be placed on the area you adopt so that everyone knows who is doing their part to keep Lewisville beautiful! Upon sign up, KLB also offers a free Adopt-A-Spot bag with trash bags, a litter grabber, gloves, a safety vest, a KLB shirt, and information about caring for your spot.

We encourage all Adopt-A-Spot participants to become Keep Lewisville Beautiful members!
