Adopt-A-Tree
The Adopt-A-Tree program is a voluntary program to involve citizens in maintaining and beautifying Lewisville. The City of Lewisville offers residents one or more FREE trees to be be planted in pre-designated medians or city parks as part of a city-wide effort to cool and beautify Lewisville's neighborhoods and parks. This program gives individuals and groups a public way to show pride in our community by allowing each adopter to take ownership of a piece of the city and be able to say "that's my tree". The trees being planted provide a good, clean air quality and help to reduce urban heat and noise. Each tree planted in this program will need at least 5 gallons of water, twice a week. The City of Lewisville Parks Department provides and plants the trees at no cost to the resident- all trees are subject to approval by the City of Lewisville.
Water must be brought on site by the adopter, in their own containers and by their own hand. Water conservation methods are encouraged, such as: catching rainwater, using small plastic tubs to catch sink water, using bath water, etc.
Tree(s) will need to be watered regularly for two years by the adopter.
