Community Service with Keep Lewisville Beautiful
During school months, Keep Lewisville Beautiful offers court and teen court ordered community service hours every second Saturday of the month, for those who are 18 or younger. KLB also has special summer hours available on weekdays between 9am and 5pm during non-school summer months. Please read below for important information regarding our community service policies.
We DO NOT accept walk-ins for court appointed community service.
*REGULAR COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHEDULE*
When school is in session (August-June), KLB offers court appointed community service every second saturday of the month for those who are 18 and younger. Those interested in doing their hours with KLB will need to schedule their Community Service atleast 3 days in advance of the cleaning date set by KLB.
Please note that in April 2011, the community service date will be on the THIRD saturday of the month and not the second (April 16th).
*SUMMER SCHEDULE OF COMMUNITY SERVICE:*
Starting Thursday, June 9th 2011 to August 20th 2011, KLB will be offering court appointed community service Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm during the summer out-of-school season. Please call and schedule your court appointed community service with our office atleast 2 days prior to coming in to do community service with our organization.You can reach our office at 972-538-5949. Please note that during the summer months we DO NOT offer weekend community service.
Community service hours offered will consist of trash pick up at a KLB approved site. Our staff will be on-site to supervise and check on community service workers, but we DO NOT offer constant supervision. For this reason, all community service workers must have parental/guardian approval to do community service unsupervised with our organization. KLB will provide the necessary supplies to conduct trash pick up (trash bags, litter grabbers, gloves, safety vests, etc). Workers may sign up for up to 8 hours of community service for each session offered. Unless otherwise stated, all community service hours are trash pick up and outside work- so please dress accordingly.
Hours available and community service worker days offered are subject to change, as per the KLB website. All clean up days can be found on our online CALENDAR HERE.

*In order to recieve hours for weekend community service, you must sign up at least (3) days prior to the scheduled clean up (January through June, August through December).
* During the summer months (June 9th through August 20th) you must sign up at least (1) day in advance with our office for weekday work.
*We also offer community service during the weeks of LISD Scheduled Spring and Winter Break.
*KLB DOES NOT OFFER COMMUNITY SERVICE DURING SCHOOL HOURS ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. If you are scheduled for summer school, you CAN NOT do community service while school is in session.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
In addition to signing up at least three days in advance, you must meet these requirements to be able to perform your community service with our organization:
*be between the ages of 14 and 18
*sign the KLB volunteer contract and general release form prior to volunteering- a PDF copy of the contract can be found HERE.
*have parental permission and signature on contract, if under the age of 18. No signature, no community service.
*have an offense that KLB accepts for community service work (see below)
*have your own ride to and from the clean up site. KLB does not provide any transportation.
*wear appropriate clean up attire: comfortable walking shoes, weather appropriate clothing, school appropriate attire.
*display appropriate behavior and attitude towards KLB staff during community service hours. KLB WILL CHECK ON YOU DURING YOUR SCHEDULED COMMUNITY SERVICE and If you do not abide by KLB rules or are found doing anything other than what was approved/discussed with you, you will not recieve credit for your service hours per the discretion of the Executive Director.
KLB takes the following minor offenses:
traffic violations, curfew, minor in possession/consumption of alcohol or tobacco products, truency, etc.
KLB does not take:
assult, battery, theft/burglary, or other similar felony charges.

The KLB office has the right to refuse any offense or community service worker for any reason, per discretion of the executive director.
